Fudge

Our fudge keeps getting better and better, now that we have over three years of getting-back-to-candy-making under our belts. We are currently making the following flavors all of the time: chocolate, chocolate walnut, turtle, maple walnut, vanilla, and peanut butter, but we will consider other flavors if any of you have suggestions. If you're really dying for a particular type that we do not currently carry, please order at least five pounds and we'll make it just for you.

All of our fudges contain, among other ingredients, heavy cream and real butter. Our chocolate and chocolate walnut fudges contain bittersweet chocolate, which makes the fudge dark and extremely flavorful. The turtle fudge contains milk chocolate and chopped-up “turtle” candies (our Paul's Pecan Favorites), so blobs of caramel and pecans whirl through it.

We pour the fudge out of the copper kettle onto the marble table and then shape it into a long, fat, fudge snake. After it sets, we cut it into bars. Depending on who made the fudge (usually Devon or Harlan) and who cut the fudge, the resulting bars that we wrap weigh 1/3-1/2 a pound. So when you order a bar from us, you'll get at least 1/3 pound, but you'll probably get closer to 1/2 pound. Devon tends to cut the bars too large and should be spanked but she just can't help herself. It's so good.
